The most efficient way to schedule a duty roster is to log in and follow these steps:
- Move sick employees or users who have a day off to one of the absent rows for the day.
- Drag employees who wish to work certain shifts from the right employee list to the desired shift. If needed you can as well overwrite a filled name.
- Click the head/brain button; the program will then fill out the shifts.
- If you want to change the suggestion, just drag the desired employee from the right column to the shift.
- Alternatively, you can hover the mouse over the desired shift, and a small window will show names on a black or green background.
- Preferably select a green name (skilled and available employees for this shift).
- You can also select a name on a black background. This employee is skilled for that shift but is already planned for another shift. However, you may need to select this employee in certain situations.
- Shifts with a red dot indicate double shifts for that employee. Drag another competent employee from the right employee column or use the above feature to assign the corresponding shift if both shifts cannot be done by the same person.
- Hovering the mouse over the top weekday button shows all employees who are available and not scheduled for that day.
Tips:
To allow a better recognizability you can set a color for each person by double clicking on the name in the right employee column
The goal is to have no grey cells (all shifts are planned). If you intentionally do not want to fill a shift, move the -x- employee to that shift.
Remark: you can ONLY move names up and down (not horizontally to the next day). This is to make sure that sick leave is only on the planned day for that person.
